Back in Noah's day
..I'm sure I would've been one of the naysayers, rolling my eyes at the freakshow building an ark because of some voice in his head. It's not a pretty truth, but there it is. I can't stand alarmism, perhaps to a fault.
And, before the summer, I'd even have been tempted to consider a lot in the so-called hundred-year flood plain. Not anymore!! These 40+ days and nights of rain, flooding and mayhem have caused me to rethink a bit. Check out these pictures of Carlos n Charlie's:
Normally, Carlos n Charlie's looks like this, with the water 15-20 feet (I'm guessing) below the upper levels & parking lot:

Although this is a different view, you can see the thatched roof in both pics for comparison. It's normally a walk down a bunch of steep stairs to the dock from the parking lot:

No fireworks on the lake for us this year! Lake Travis is closed for the foreseeable future, until enough water escapes through the open floodgates to make swimming & boating safe(r).
